NFL player goes wild cheering on wife at Olympics

American born Blough was in the front row of the team auditorium watching his Colombian born wife Gonzalez, who has dual citizenship with U.S. but competes for the Colombian team, running in the semi-final heat of the 400-metre hurdles and couldn't contain his excitement.

Blough first stood and shouted "Let's go Mel!" several times and then jumped around the room pumping his fist when Gonzalez finished in second place with a time of 55.35 seconds to advance to the event final on Monday.

Blough is competing at the team's preseason training camp to be the backup quarterback for the Lions in the upcoming NFL season.
