NFL betting: Thursday Night Football bettors like Giants moneyline, WFT spread

There's a big split in tonight's divisional matchup between the New York Giants and the Washington Football Team, with 58% of spread bettors taking Washington but 69% of moneyline bettors on New York. This has caused line movements in opposite directions at BetMGM, as we've seen Washington go from three-point favorites to -3.5, while the Giants are now +150 after opening at +160.

Why is there such a disparity in the spread and moneyline action? Well, it could be a combination of Washington backers not wanting to pay the -175 moneyline juice and New York bettors believing that if the Giants can cover a small spread, they also have a chance at winning straight up and returning more money for their stake.

And if Washington wins by a field goal or less? Then Vegas just hit a nice middle where they get to scoop the majority of spread and moneyline tickets.

Prop it like it's hot

The three most popular prop bets on BetMGM for tonight's game involve separate props for each of the two lead running backs and one that parlays performances for both teams' top receiver.

Tonight's top play is on Washington running back Antonio Gibson to score the game's first touchdown (+550). Gibson didn't hit paydirt against the Chargers last week, but the Football Team is likely to rely on him even more after losing starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to injured reserve.

The second-most bet prop is that Giants wide receiver Kenny Golladay and Football Team wideout Terry McLaurin both record 65+ receiving yards (+275). Golladay had 64 yards on six targets in Week 1 versus the Broncos' top-ranked secondary and McLaurin ended up with 62 yards on four targets.

Saquon Barkley was eased in last week after returning from an ACL tear, but if he finds his way into the end zone tonight and the Giants win, it'll pay out +200 to everyone who made this the third-most popular bet.
