- Time for News on the Move. 50 million Americans in eight states are under heat warnings and watches this week, with temperatures expected to remain elevated over the weekend. Now, dozens of daily records have already been set from California to Montana and Wyoming. Power grid companies in California and Texas, they are asking residents to conserve energy in an effort to avoid rolling blackouts.

Now, Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul has entered into the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols and is out indefinitely. So this means that it's possible that Paul will not play at the start of the upcoming Western Conference Finals. His isolation period, though, is not yet known. He has not publicly revealed whether or not he has been vaccinated.

And Mackenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Jeff Bezos, is giving away $2.7 billion to 286 organizations. Now, this includes universities, art groups, and nonprofits working to fight racial injustice and domestic violence. Now this is the third round of major philanthropic gifts from Scott, whose net worth is estimated at just around $60 billion.
