Nichole Berlie is embracing her new look as she continues treatment for breast cancer.
On Monday, the NewsNation anchor, 46, posted a video on Instagram revealing that she shaved her head after it started falling out following her second round of chemotherapy.
“I am bald. I’m still getting used to it and I actually really really like it,” she said in the clip. “Friday when I came home from work I lost a lot of hair that night and it was really emotional. It was actually harder to see the hair coming out, even though it was probably less than an inch. When I actually cut my hair, I wasn’t as emotional but seeing it come out and there were patches, it was just very traumatic so I decided to shave it.”
“I’m loving it. So this is the new bald Nichole. It's what I look like,” she continued. “I kinda wanted to give you a heads up because this is what I plan to wear on air,” she said, noting that she doesn’t want to wear a wig. “This is me! This is going to be me for the next few months.”

Berlie first revealed her breast cancer diagnosis last month with an emotional announcement while live on air for NewsNation.
“It did come as a shock — I’m still in disbelief in many ways,” she admitted. “I didn’t have any signs, I didn’t have any symptoms, I still don’t, and I still feel great.”
At the time, Berlie said she would be starting treatment the following day and she intends to donate her hair to “an organization that helps kids who are fighting cancer.”
“It’s going to be a big change but it is only hair and it’ll grow back. The important thing is that I beat this,” noting that she hopes to keep working throughout her cancer journey.“I’m hopeful that seeing my journey will help someone, whether they are also battling cancer or if they have a loved one who is, because cancer truly touches all of us in some way.”
“I have gone through every single emotion, and if you ask if I’m scared, I absolutely am. But I'm choosing to stay positive,” Berlie added. “I’m gonna keep a smile and I absolutely have faith.”
