Intuition, or La Corazonada, is Netflix's latest addition to its ever expanding crime-thriller genre of movies.

The prequel to 2018's Perdida stars Luisana Lopilato as Manuela “Pipa” Pelari and Joaquín Furriel as Francisco Juanez, two cops investigating the murder of a 19 year old woman.

Gloriana, the victim, was disliked by many – a spoiled society girl, but her death needs investigating none the less. At the same time, rookie Pipa is asked to look into her senior officer, Juanez, for the shooting of young man, Galvan, who killed Juanez's wife.

Is your head spinning, yet? Don't worry, we've got you covered – but here's a warning, major spoilers for Intuition follow.

The first 15 minutes of the film have literally nothing to do with the rest of the story, so you can basically forget that it even happens.

The real case begins when Gloriana's body is discovered, which sees Pipa at the crime scene with another cop named Ordonez, and a forensic officer.

Juanez turns up late, having been at the hospital due to a heart condition, which he refuses to get treated - why? Because he's a maverick with a death wish and he refuses to tell anyone about it because, well, who knows.

The accusation of murder quickly lands on Gloriana's boyfriend, but then pivots to her best friend Minerva.

Minerva has no alibi, and after a few minutes of forceful questioning by the district attorney, she confesses to a murder she clearly didn't commit. Juanez is convinced of this, but the DA Roger wants to press charges, so Juanez asks Pipa to talk to Minerva.

Pipa reveals that she too lost her best friend at 14, but the empathy gamble doesn't pay off, and the girl continues to insist she killed Gloriana. However, forensics prove otherwise – the killer had to have been right handed, and Minerva is left handed.

The various interrogations take place with flashback scenes to a party where Gloriana was acting out the night before her death. Pipa presses Minerva, who says she covered Gloriana with a blanket when in fact Gloriana was discovered uncovered, on top of the bed.

Using their ~ INTUITION ~ Juanez and Pipa go back to the crime scene, find that the door's lock was broken all the while and realise an intruder could have gotten in, widening the field of suspects.

Juanez climbs up to the terrace where he sees a bloody fingerprint, hops the wall to the neighbouring terrace and climbs down into their yard where he finds a bloody knife, which is enough to get a search warrant for the neighbour.

Gloraina's neighbour, Mauro, has a host of unnamed mental health issues that result in him being unable to do anything outside of his routine.

Mauro's mother can't believe that her son would kill her, but Juanez claims that he would shimmy down into Gloriana's terrace and spy on the girls.

Meanwhile (get used to this), Pipa is also investigating Juanez because while all this is happening, Roger still believes he killed Galvan. Through her own investigative INTUITION, she unearths Juanez's secret heart condition and exonerates him – or so she thinks; the DA still has it in for Juanez, and asks another cop, Fito, to question Juanez's doctor again.

Juanez, Pipa, and the rest of the team are celebrating finding Gloriana's killer, and after a night of heavy flirting the pair sleep together. The next day, Juanez's doctor calls to tell him that a female cop has been asking him questions.

After snooping, Pipa leaves but from her car sees Juanez talking to an older woman named Carmen. Dun dun dun...

Meanwhile, pictures on Mauro's phone reveal he was stalking Minerva, but the police soon find that Mauro escaped from the psychiatric clinic, only to show up at Minerva and Gloriana's apartment where Minerva is packing up her belongings.

A game of cat and mouse ensues, and ends with Minerva stabbing Mauro presumably in self defence, though the audience doesn't see the actual event. Pipa arrives on the scene in time to see Mauro die.

MEANWHILE (yes, we know), Fito is looking at footage that proves Juanez went to the hospital (because we're still on this tangent) and didn't kill Galvan.

Minerva's grandmother gives Juanez a precious heirloom (in a jewellery box identical to the one Pipa found under Minerva's bed) as thanks for exonerating Minerva; a jewelled owl, which both she and Minerva have. Thanks to another beam of *INTUITION*, Juanez calls Minerva and her grandmother back into interrogation.

MEANWHILE (honestly) some masked assailants attack Fito, stealing from him the footage that exonerates Juanez, despite the fact that he emailed it along anyway? Honestly.

Back in the interrogation Juanez confronts Minerva, accusing her of murder. The proof? Mauro discovered Gloriana's body covered by a blanket (as Minerva had claimed she did), and Pipa spotted that despite being a lefty, Minerva did certain things with her right — like stab... as she stabbed Mauro.

We are then treated to a flashback of Minerva caring for a drunk and sad Gloriana, who is railing against Minerva, calling her a stupid orphan who knows nothing. Gloriana confesses that she stole Minerva's owl, and then kicks her out of the apartment.

Enraged, Minerva killed Gloriana while she slept. She found the owl underneath Gloriana and took it back, but the owl left an imprint in Gloriana's back, which is somehow also proof of her guilt.

There's still 23 minutes left of the movie by this point, at which Pipa is ruminating over how they are responsible for Mauro's death (which, to be fair, they kind of are). Juanez comes to the obvious conclusion that 'everybody lies' and that's their justification. LOL.

On a random street, an unidentified amount of time later, Pipa meets Roger who reveals Fito was attacked (which we know because we saw it already but, hey ho) but survived.

Pipa watches the footage of Juanez's trip to the hospital where he's dropped off in a red car, the same red car she saw in photos when she was snooping in his drawer.

Roger confirms that Fito did send them all the footage, despite only having watched the front-camera. The red car is the same red car seen driving away after killing Galvan, so it was Juanez who sent the men after Fito to get the footage implicating himself.

Pipa is taken off the case, because presumably Juanez knows she's onto him, but of course Pipa doesn't stay off the case, does she? Roger MEANWHILE is on the phone with a mystery person, discussing mysterious things...

Galvan's brother Zorro comes to meet Roger, who reveals to Zorro that it was Juanez who killed Galvan and that he's set a meeting in an hour where Zorro can ambush Juanez.

Turns out Galvan's brother was blackmailing Roger! Zorro says that he'll give the digital copy of the incriminating photos back after he kills Juanez, if the DA claims it was a mugging gone wrong and not a murder.

However, Pipa is ahead of them all and she finds Juanez, accuses him of murder. Juanez invites her to stay, hidden, and witness whatever meeting is about to take place — presumably some big conspiracy that's about to unravel.

Zorro and another man arrive on motorcycles, but Juanez has MEANWHILE set up Ordonez as a sniper on a nearby roof and offers Zorro the chance to fork over the blackmail. Zorro accepts, gives him the photos, which Juanez throws in the river.

A shootout happens, and though Juanez was wearing a bulletproof vest, he has a heart attack. Pipa rushes out, as does Ordonez, but Zorro kills Ordonez before he can call for help. Pipa shoots Zorro, and then calls an ambulance herself.

Some time later, at the hospital where Juanez is recovering, Pipa and Fito discuss the case. Fito says they still don't know who owns the red car, just as the mysterious older woman appears — his mother-in-law, and Pipa INTUITS (sorry) that she is the real killer of Galvan.

Pipa breaks into the mystery woman's garage and finds THE CAR.

Flashback to the night of Galvan's murder: Juanez is helping his mother in law cover up the murder of Galvan, as Pipa is being roped into the nightmare at the beginning. We jump back to present, with Pipa walking down the street and passing by the mother in law, and then going on her way.

PHEW.
