Neighbours spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Neighbours has given UK fans their first look at Shane Rebecchi's dark new drugs storyline.

Shane (Nicholas Coghlan) is seen struggling as he desperately tries to tackle a worrying addiction in upcoming scenes.

In next week's episodes, Shane's daughter Yashvi (Olivia Junkeer) – who's currently training with the police – believes that the investigation into drugs at Erinsborough High is nearing an end.

What Yashvi doesn't realise is that an exhausted Shane is hiding a huge secret of his own, which could involve the police in the long-run.

It turns out that Shane is using drugs himself, believing that the quick fixes are helping him to cope with the demands of his studies and frequent all-nighters.

During a shift at The Waterhole, Roxy Willis (Zima Anderson) stumbles across one of the empty blue star bags which have been associated with the drugs.

Although the bag is now empty, Roxy wants to hand it into the police as part of the ongoing investigation.

Shane frantically tries to stop Roxy, coming clean to her about how the drugs were his.

Shane begs Roxy to give him a chance to get clean without his wife Dipi (Sharon Johal) needing to know about it.

Roxy decides to trust Shane and promises not to say anything to Dipi, as long as he agrees not to use drugs again.

Later, Shane makes a genuine effort to go cold turkey, but finds the experience awful and calls Roxy for help. Is it only a matter of time before Dipi finds out the truth?
