Neighbors Push Floating Cars Stuck in Flash Flooding in Lexington, Kentucky

Kentucky residents rushed to help a commuter who made a failed attempt to drive through floodwaters in Lexington, Kentucky, on May 19.

The car got stuck after trying to drive through the flooded street which had been hit by heavy rainfall.

In a sign of how desperate the situation was, another car in the opposite lane was being pushed from behind to get through the flooded section of the road.

“Love thy neighbour!” a voice can be heard saying in the video as people are seen running to the stranded car to help.

The National Weather Service issued flash flooding warnings for Lexington at around 4:30 pm local time as severe thunderstorms swept through the state. The weather bureau warned people not to drive through floodwaters. Credit: Sarah Faye Gullett via Storyful
