Nearly 20% Of DBKL’s PA/PPR Occupants No Longer Eligible To Stay
A census and audit conducted by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) showed that almost 20% of the occupants of Public Housing (PA) and People’s Housing Projects (PPR) have lost their eligibility to stay in such houses.
Deputy Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Dr Santhara Kumar explained that the main criteria for PA/PPR occupants “to lose their eligibility is when they have other houses and with high income that they can afford to buy luxury cars”.
“However, those with high income, but have many dependents, DBKL is considerate and still allows them to continue living at the PA/PPR units,” he said as quoted by Bernama.

He made the statement after giving out offer letters to 20 recipients of PA/PPR housing units.
PA/PPR housing occupants who are no longer eligible for the homes should leave to enable those who are deserving to benefit from it, said Santhara.
On the PA/PPR housing applications, he revealed that DBKL has so far approved 2,000 out of the 30,000 applications.
