NCIS star Scottie Thompson is moving over to NCIS: Los Angeles – but this time she'll be playing a different character.

In her previous NCIS storylines, Scottie played Jeanne Benoit, a doctor who was also an arms dealer's daughter.

This time, however, TV Line reports that she'll be playing Sarah Raines, an agent for the Defence Intelligence Agency, who is working on a highly classified mission to investigate UFO sightings – yes, really.

Described as "confident, all-business and a bit cynical", Agent Raises will become entangled with the NCIS team after her superior goes missing, although she's reluctant to reveal any details of her DIA investigation.

Aside from her previous appearances on NCIS, Thompson's TV credits include roles on 12 Monkeys and Graceland, as well as episodes of Training Day, Zoo, Grey's Anatomy, The Blacklist and Castle.
