NBA playoff betting: Bettors are heavily siding with the home teams Tuesday night

·2-min read

Bettors really like the home teams ahead of Tuesday night’s NBA playoff games.

All three home teams are getting at least 80% of the money bet against the spread at BetMGM as bettors aren’t giving the road teams much of a chance. The Phoenix Suns are getting the most money of any favorite as a 9.5-point favorite against the New Orleans Pelicans. The top-seeded Suns are getting 86% of bets and 89% of the money as they try to take a 2-0 lead against the Pelicans. The Suns won Game 1 by a score of 110-99 as Chris Paul had 30 points and Devin Booker scored 25.

The Memphis Grizzlies are getting 84% of the handle as 6.5-point favorites against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Wolves won the first game of the series on Saturday, but bettors haven’t been dissuaded by that victory. Memphis received over 90% of bets to win the series ahead of Game 1 but Minnesota took the first game easily in a 130-117 victory on the road.

The home team getting the fewest bets on Tuesday night is the Miami Heat. The Heat are getting 69% of bets but those bets equal 80% of the total money. Miami is a 7.5-point favorite against the Atlanta Hawks after easily winning Game 1 on Sunday.

Wins and covers by the three home teams on Tuesday night would continue the trend of favorites taking care of business so far in the playoffs. Favorites were 2-1 against the spread on Monday night as Dallas joined Minnesota as the only underdogs to to get a win straight up with a 110-104 victory over the Utah Jazz. So far this postseason, favorites are 15-2 straight up and 12-5 against the spread. If the majority of bettors have their way on Tuesday night, those numbers will jump to 18-2 and 15-5.
