NATO drills on weapons systems deployed to Ukraine

STORY: According to organizers, around 2,400 troops from the United States, United Kingdom, and across Europe took part in the Dynamic Front 22 exercises aiming to "increase readiness, lethality and interoperability" in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

"As we look at what's happening to our east, we see artillery on both sides of the Russia-Ukraine conflict playing a pivotal role," said U.S. Army Major General Stephen Maranian, "so, all the more important now that we take this exercise that we've been doing for years and grow it..."

The exercises included some weapons systems deployed in the Ukraine conflict, including the U.S.-made M270 multiple launch rocket system (MLRS).

Ukraine said on July 15 that the first M270 systems had arrived in the country, but did not specify which country had donated them.
