After months of separation rumors, Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied have finalized their divorce. According to People, Portman quietly filed for divorce from her husband of 11 years last July and it was finalized last month in France (where the former couple lives). Portman's rep confirmed the news to the publication on Friday.

The divorce comes after Millepied's affair last year and split speculation. A close source told the publication that while it's been a "really tough" year for Portman, she is staying positive and spending time with family and friends.

"It was initially really tough for her, but her friends rallied around her and helped get her through the worst of it," the friend of the couple said. "Natalie is coming out of a really tough and painful year but she's come out the other side of it stronger and is finding joy in her family, friends and work."

The exes' two kids, son Aleph and daughter Amalia, have been Portman's main "priority" through the whole process, according to the insider. "Her biggest priority has been ensuring a smooth transition for her children," they told People. "She and Ben really love their kids and are equally focused on being the best co-parents they can be. Nothing is more important."

The two have kept their split private, though Portman hasn't been wearing her wedding ring following his cheating scandal. The outlet noted that they've been able to use this time to work through things and find a "new normal."
