'The Nanny' Cast Is Reuniting for a Virtual Table Read
Get ready to watch (and definitely hear) Fran Drescher exclaim those three special words: "Oh Mr. Sheffield!" Although we have to wait until May for the Friends reunion special to air, the original cast of The Nanny is getting back together next week for a special project.
The Nanny cast will be *virtually* reuniting on the video-conference platform Zoom for a table read of the show's pilot episode. While we sadly won't be able to join the conference call, we will be able to watch the whole thing. This super-rare Zoom session will then be posted to Sony Pictures YouTube page the morning of Monday, April 6, 2020. The virtual reunion will feature Fran Drescher, Charles Shaughnessy , Daniel Davis, Lauren Lane, Nicholle Tom , Benjamin Salisbury, Madeline Zima, Renee Taylor, Alex Sternin, Ann Hampton Callaway, DeeDee Rescher, Rachel Chagall, and Jonathan Penner, according to Variety.

Earlier this month, Drescher had hinted at a "surprise" from the cast after a fan had tagged her in a tweet asking that the series be moved to a streaming platform. While there's no word on that (ahem, Netflix), we'll definitely make sure to cherish every moment of this The Nanny virtual session.
Awe hang in! We got a surprise for you! Announcement this week! Stay tuned! Weeeee!!!👏🏼 https://t.co/DTe4rE6IRc

“Laughter is the best medicine! So, in these challenging times, Petah (the show's co-creator) and I thought, wouldn’t it be great if we pulled together the original cast of ‘The Nanny’ for a virtual read of the pilot" Fran Drescher in a statement. "It’s a once in a lifetime Pandemic Performance for our fans around the world who are currently stressing in isolation and could use a real upper!"
