Police Release Audio of Moment Cleo Smith Found

Western Australia Police released an audio recording on November 4 of the moment detectives discovered missing four-year-old Cleo Smith in a locked house in Carnarvon.

The officers are heard talking to Smith and asking for her name.

“My name is Cleo,” she responded. “Your name is Cleo,” an officer can be heard repeating back to her, with another following up with, “Hello Cleo”.

The four-year-old was taken to a hospital and reunited with her family on Wednesday. Smith had been missing since October 16, after she vanished from her family’s tent at a campsite. Credit: WA Police Force via Storyful
