This is the moment a man was caught sleeping on top of a car - in just his pants and socks.

The man was thought to be sleeping off the effects of an evening's drinking on the roof of the vehicle.

He was caught on CCTV cameras in a car park in Cromer, Norfolk, in the early hours of Sunday.

The man had ended up stripped off and on top of the car just as the UK's recent heatwave began to draw to a close.

Resident Tom Selby said he heard a commotion in the night, but thought it was caused by badgers.

When he checked his security cameras the next morning, he got something of a shock.

Selby, who described himself as a "keen badger watcher", uses his CCTV to see what the animals get up to during the night.

Expecting to see some badger antics, he was instead greeted by the image of the sleeping man, clad in black briefs and blue socks on top of a silver car.

"After hearing a little commotion and seeing a few bits on the floor the next morning I scrolled through my CCTV to see what had happened", said Selby.

"I stumbled across this man lying on the car with an outrageously violent wedgie."
