'Naked And Afraid' Star Sarah Danser Dies At Age 34

“Naked and Afraid” reality star Sarah Danser died following a car accident in Honolulu, Hawaii, Hawaii News Now reported Wednesday. She was 34.

Danser, who first appeared in the Discovery Channel’s survival competition franchise in 2017, was a passenger in a car whose driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a parked car Sunday night, the local news outlet said.

The reality TV star was taken to a hospital in critical condition and died Tuesday. The driver, as well as one of the two people in the parked car, were reported to be in serious condition.

Honolulu police said speed seemed to be a factor in the crash, but not drugs or alcohol, per Hawaii News Now.

After first appearing in Season 8 of “Naked and Afraid” in 2017, Danser returned the following year for “Naked and Afraid XL” and made various appearances in the TV franchise through 2021, according to the site IMDb.

She appeared in the first season of the competition show “Fight To Survive” last year.

Representatives for The CW, which airs “Fight To Survive,” and Warner Bros. Discovery, which owns the Discovery Channel, did not immediately return requests for comment.

Danser, a Colorado native, had been living in Hawaii for over a decade, according to Hawaii News Now.

She documented her life in Hawaii on her Instagram page. In November, she shared a picture of herself, all smiles, driving a boat with the caption “Every day is Boat Day!”

The reality TV star shared in October 2020 that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer earlier that year.

“Women do not usually start getting breast exams until age 40 ― I was 29,” she wrote at the time. “Had I not been aware of my own body, it would have been 11 years until the cancer was discovered, and by then it would have been too late.”

Island Divers Hawaii — a scuba diving company that employed Danser, per Hawaii News Now — paidtribute to her Thursday on social media.

“Heavy hearts as we say goodbye to a good friend and great captain,” the company wrote. “Sarah brought such great energy to everyone she came in contact with. You will be greatly missed.”

Danser’s brother described her as “magical” during an interview with Hawaii News Now.

“Sarah had this positive energy about her that just really filled the environment that she was in,” Jake Danser told the outlet.
