25 Oct – Naim Daniel couldn't help but feel elated that he has been nominated at the upcoming 2021 edition of the MTV European Music Awards (MTV EMA).

The singer, who is nominated in the Best Southeast Asia Act category, stated that he was a little confused at first upon finding out about the nomination, seeing that there were several other local awards releasing their nominations at the same time.

"So, when I was suddenly told I was nominated for MTV EMA, I was very grateful that the international world is recognising my talent as well, not just in Malaysia," he said.

Although he does not put any hopes in winning, Naim admitted that getting the award would be a bonus.

"It is still considered something to be proud of. It's a new experience and a valuable one for a young performer like me," he added.

Naim will be contending for the said award against other Southeast Asian performers including Philippine's SB19, Singapore's JJ Lin, and Indonesia's Lyodra.

The upcoming awards will be held live from Budapest, Hungary on 14 November.
