Mykolaiv family clinic hit by shelling

STORY: The family clinic's pediatric department was partially destroyed and now cannot treat children.

Cabinets containing patients medical records were destroyed by the strike, said pediatrician Svitlana Dmytrieva as she assessed what documents could be saved.

Mykolaiv's emergency services were working to repair a power line and water pipe in front of the clinic at the impact crater.

Ukraine launched a counter offensive earlier this week after several weeks of relative stalemate in the conflict with Russian forces that has seen thousands killed and millions displaced.

The push is in the south, particularly the Kherson region which was occupied by Russian early in the conflict.

Mykolaiv is a port city in south Ukraine, located 37 miles from Russian-occupied Kherson and has been shelled for months.
