PUTRAJAYA, Jan 2 (Bernama) -- MYTV Broadcasting Sdn Bhd (MYTV) will be performing a frequency rearrangement for the myFreeview digital broadcast from Jan 6 in stages and spanning the first quarter of 2020.
In a statement today, MYTV said this is in line with a Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) plan to migrate to the 700MHz spectrum for broadband or 5G services.
“The process involves a change to one or two existing frequencies from the transmitter stations. TV viewers who experience broadcast disruption after the rearrangement exercise must retune their decoder or Integrated Digital Television (IDTV),” the statement said.
Automatic retuning is recommended, but for manual retuning, visit https://www.mytvbroadcasting.my/pdf/Lists-of-frequency.pdf.
Frequency rearrangement at the Gunung Raya transmitter station in Langkawi, Kedah on Jan 6 will be from 1am - 6am and involve a change to the second frequency. MyFreeview is transmitted on two different radio frequencies from each transmitter station.
Further details and updates will be available via Facebook, the official MYTV website or customer service helpline: 1800-18-1088.
