Myanmar Protesters Set up Barricades in Yangon

Protests showed no sign of cooling in Myanmar on March 7, as demonstrators against the military junta, some with shields, gathered in Yangon, setting up blockades in the street.

The toll from clashes has risen over the past week. On March 3, UN special envoy for Myanmar, Christine Schraner Burgener, said that 38 people had died on that day alone, bringing the death toll to more than 50 since the February 1 military coup.
