A multitasking Dallas mom had her juggling skills tested for the #ToiletPaperChallenge after a roll of tissue was thrown at her while she was dishing up dinner at her home on April 26.
With many people stockpiling rolls of toilet paper during the COVID-19 lockdown, the #ToiletPaperChallenge has been trending on social media. Large numbers of people have taken part, including professional soccer players such as Lionel Messi.
In footage captured by Daniela Hudson’s nine-year-old daughter, Martina Hudson, a voice says, “Think fast,” before a roll of toilet paper is thrown to Daniela, who is serving up dinner. She kicks the roll from foot to foot before bouncing it off her head toward the camera.
The Dallas mother of two and physical education teacher, originally from Uruguay, told Storyful that she developed her passion for soccer from her father. She only played with boys while growing up in South America, because there weren’t many opportunities for girls to play, she said.
Hudson moved to the United States when she was 18 to play soccer and tennis on a college scholarship. She was a part of Uruguay’s women’s national soccer team during her last year in college, she told Storyful. She also played for Uruguay in futsal, a form of soccer that is played indoors and on a hard court.
Hudson told Storyful that after seeing large numbers of people fighting over toilet paper in the supermarket, she decided to juggle it. “I have two children, Diego and Martina. We have been in quarantine for over 40 days … We are just trying to make the best out of a situation that we are in, that’s all in the attitude,” she added.
