Multiple People Reported Killed in Cambodia Casino Fire

Cambodian and Thai authorities worked to extinguish a fire that broke out at a casino in the Cambodian border city of Poipet early on Thursday, December 29, state media reported.

As of 8:00 am local time, Cambodia’s national broadcaster reported that efforts to extinguish the blaze at the Grand Diamond Casino and Hotel remained underway. The broadcaster also reported that people were still inside the complex, and that some had fallen from the building.

Citing authorities, Cambodian media reported at least 10 people had been killed.
