Multiple Flood Warnings in Place for Wales as Roads Submerged

Flood warnings were in place for parts of Wales on January 12 after heavy overnight rain.

Video by Twitter user @roodskins shows flooding off the A470 in Pontypridd early on Thursday morning.

Local officials said the Bridge Street/A470 interchange was closed due to the flooding.

The local government urged people to stay away from riverbanks, floodwater, and the Taff Trail, warning of the “extremely high river levels”.

Natural Resources Wales issued flood alerts for 11 rivers across Wales on Thursday, including the River Taff, which burst its banks, according to police. Credit: @roodskins via Storyful
