IPOH, November 18 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim described Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s accusation on voting for PH will led the country to be “Christianise”, as a desperate move.

Anwar said that the Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman made such claims to divert from answering to the issue of corruption, projects being sanctioned without tenders and high living cost.

“All they answer was Chinese is communist, Christianisation agenda, LGBT and Jewish.

“What’s surprised me is that the willingness of PAS, who disguised under religion, to allow the party to use such slanders, racial issues and politics,” he told a press conference at Padang Meru Permai.

However, Anwar, who is also PKR president and PH’s prime minister candidate said that the people can evaluate by their own on these matter.

“I’m satisfied with the reception and support not only from Malays but also all others races and non-governmental organisations, artists and athletes who are ready to welcome Harapan,” he added.

Videos of Muhyiddin delivering a speech in which he made controversial remarks have been circulating on social media.

A YouTube video uploaded by Malay news outlet Agenda Daily yesterday showed Muhyiddin urging voters to reject Pakatan Harapan (PH) while on stump at the PNBest ceramah in Muar, Johor on November 16.

The Pagoh defender claimed that PH was being backed by a group of Jews and Christians pushing their religious agenda in Malaysia.

Earlier, the Christian Federation of Malaysia had called for action to be taken against Muhyiddin for claiming that a group of Jews and Christians were plotting to take over Muslim-majority Malaysia.

Its chairman and executive committee Philip Thomas said he is “shocked and appalled” that the former prime minister had made such an ill-natured statement to stir up racial and religious tension.
