'Much Needed' Rain Falls in Flagstaff as Tunnel Fire Spreads

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Arizona said “much needed” rain fell in the Flagstaff area on Friday, April 22, as firefighters continued to battle the Tunnel Fire.

Although light, the NWS said they were “grateful for the moisture” as local media reported windy weather hampered efforts to contain the blaze.

By Friday morning, the Tunnel Fire had grown to over 20,000 acres and was at 3 percent containment, according to the Arizona Emergency Information Network.
