New Movies Out Now in Theaters: What to See This Week

It’s not always easy to find out which movies hit theaters each week, especially after the Hollywood strikes led to so many release date changes. With the WGA and actors strikes resolved and summer blockbusters starting to roll in, July is filled with both big budget flicks and new indie releases.

Premiering July 19 is “Twisters,” an action thriller following a retired storm chaser and meteorologist who returns to Oklahoma to work with new tech and a new team, starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell, Anthony Ramos and Brandon Perea. Also on Friday, “Oddity” arrives in theaters, a horror thriller about a woman who seeks revenge for the murder of her twin sister using a cursed wooden mannequin, starring Gwilym Lee, Carolyn Bracken, Tadhg Murphy and Caroline Menton. Two films getting limited releases this week are “Crumb Catcher,” a dramedy about two newlyweds held captive by a maniacally confident inventor, and “Clawfoot,” a thriller about a housewife who must fend off a psychologically manipulative contractor. Keep an eye out for “Deadpool & Wolverine” and “Dìdi” which both release next week.
