Mourners Line Edinburgh Streets as Queen's Funeral Cortege Passes Through

People lined the streets of Edinburgh to watch as the funeral cortege carrying the remains of Queen Elizabeth II passed through the Scottish capital on September 11.

The funeral procession left Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, where the queen died on Thursday, and passed through Dundee before ending at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

Authorities said the Queen’s remains would be moved to St Giles’ Cathedral on Monday, where the newly proclaimed King Charles III and other members of the Royal Family would attend a service to receive the coffin. Credit: @ourwanderlost via Storyful
