Mourners Arrive at Cape Town Cathedral as Desmond Tutu Lies in State

Mourners filed past flower tributes at Cape Town’s St George’s Cathedral on December 30 as the remains of Desmond Tutu lay in state at the cathedral.

Funeral services for Tutu would be held between December 30 and January 1, local officials said.

The former archbishop and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, known for his work as an anti-apartheid activist, died in a Cape Town nursing home on Sunday, aged 90.
