Mountain Lion Spotted With Deer Carcass in Nevada's Mount Charleston

A student at a Nevada university spotted a mountain lion with a deer carcass in Mount Charleston on May 20.

UNLV student Guneet Guron told Storyful the “video was taken when my friends and I were driving to Mt Charleston.”

Guron told local media they were on their way to lunch when they spotted the cougar having its own meal.

He said they “felt that for the safety of both the public and the mountain lion, everybody should know to keep their guard up.”

While mountain lions are not unheard of in the area, sightings this close to humans are uncommon, local media reported, citing the Nevada Department of Wildlife. Credit: Guneet Guron via Storyful
