Oakland-based artist Jackson Phillips has shared a taste of his new project, Day Wave, and Ghostface Killah of Wu-Tang Clan this week released a first single from his upcoming solo album.

Jackson Phillips began making music as Day Wave just a few months ago and has reveals its first fruits via the new track "Nothing At All," to be included on a debut EP due early next year.

"‘Nothing At All' with its dreamy-escapades, shows off all the mystic qualities Jackson clearly possesses, and he looks nailed on to have the American A&R's clambering over him," says Inthejunkyardmusic.

"The dreamy song from the Oakland based artist reminded me from the get go of acts I love very dearly, like Future Islands, Spector, and The Drums, with an abundant helping of surfy DIIV and sunny Real Estate," says I Heart Moosiq.

The Wu-Tang Clan album "A Better Tomorrow" is due out December 2 and will be followed closely by Ghostface Killah's just-announced comic book-themed concept album, "36 Seasons," out December 9. He's just shared the first single, "Love Don't Live Here No More," featuring singer Kandace Springs.

Silver Soundz describes the new single as "a track anchored by a vintage soul beat that sees Ghostface Killah getting personal and looking back on a failed relationship."

"Based around a soul sample, Ghost explores content that sounds befitting of his Ghostdini: Wizard of Poetry in Emerald City album," says Surviving the Golden Age.
