Mosquito Fire Burning in Northern California Grows to Over 1,200 Acres

New evacuation orders were issued as the Mosquito fire burning in Placer County, California, reached 1,203 acres and was zero percent contained on Wednesday, September 7, according to Cal Fire.

Cal Fire said the fire exhibited “extreme fire behavior” on Tuesday, September 6, and that firefighter personnel would focus on building containment lines around the fire on September 7.

The Placer County sheriff’s office issued multiple evacuation orders in the area.
