More Hoth Than Narnia as Snow Engulfs House in Vermont Following Nor'easter

The deep snow around a house in Greensboro, Vermont, prompted the owner to compare it to the Star Wars rebels’ base on the icy planet of Hoth.

Footage from Adam Froehlig shows what he estimated to be eight feet of snow piled up around his house, with a path tunneled to the front door.

Froehlig said he has “barely been able to keep a path open” to access his house, noting that he “can’t even see the front door right now because of this mound.”

“It’s not just living in Narnia, this is more like living in Hoth,” Froehlig said.

According to the National Weather Service, more than 2.5 feet of snow was recorded in some areas of Vermont following the nor’easter of March 14-15. Credit: Adam Froehlig via Storyful

ADAM FROEHLIG: This is the entrance to our house right now with an 8-foot pile of snow between what's come off the roof. And you can see, we still have more to come off the roof. Well, what we've had to shovel just to get a-- have an entrance to the front door. You can't even see the front door right now because of this mound.

This is 43 inches of snow, just since March 1. And 28 inches of snow just in the last two days. We've barely been able to keep a path open. And you can see right here, the mound is very much taller than the door, easily 8 feet. And there's more waiting to come off the roof.

It's not just living in Narnia. This is more like living in Hoth. And then here's another mound, higher than the adjacent window. Absolutely crazy.
