Moove Over: Cow Blocks Traffic on New York Expressway

Most New Yorkers are not used to seeing farm animals roam the city streets, which is why some motorists were no doubt confused when a cow was spotted wandering along the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx, New York, on March 19.

Police received calls shortly before noon, as the cow was causing traffic to slow down on the expressway. A little bit after 1 pm the animal was placed safely in a trailer, where it was removed from the expressway and traffic was able to resume as usual.

The cow will be placed with the Skylands Sanctuary of Wantage animal care facility. Credit: Finebone Photography via Storyful
