21 May – Although her fellow Miss Hong Kong 2013 alumni Grace Chan and Sisley Choi have been doing great both in their personal and professional life, Moon Lau said she would rather not compare herself to both actresses.
As reported on Mingpao, Moon, who was asked about Grace's happy married life and new business as well as Sisley's heavy promotion as the new top star at TVB, stated that she is very happy for both, but that she is not in competition with them.
"I am the kind of person who enjoys the scenery along the road rather than focus on the destination. When I was young, I wanted to be a director. But then I found something else on my journey, so I decided to try it," she said.
Moon stated that she couldn't even predict that she would end up becoming an actress after joining the pageant.
"I really enjoy everything that I have now and I am very content. I want to focus on my own path," she added.
The actress also stressed being a beautiful face would not take her anywhere if she does not add more value to her worth.
"I recently enrolled in a course on arts. I went to learn singing, composing, writing lyrics, and arranging music. I wouldn't dare say I am talented at singing, but I would like to try," she added.
Moon won second runner-up at the 2013 Miss Hong Kong pageant, losing to Sisley - who won first runner-up - and Grace Chan, who won the title that year.
