KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 26 (Bernama) -- Animation company, Monsta, is targeting sales worth RM5 million from its latest monthly comic series 'BoBoiBoy Galaxy Season 2' this year with the printing of about 100,000 copies per month.
Its chief executive officer Nizam Abdul Razak said the company was confident of achieving the target as the animated comic had its own fans.
"We have previously produced the first season of BoBoiBoy compilation comic which was released once in three months with the printing of 100,000 copies a year, and we feel the need to release it every month due to the high demand from fans," he told a press conference after launching the latest BoBoiBoy comic here today.
He said the bilingual monthly comic would also be marketed in Southeast Asian countries as well as India and Sri Lanka in physical and digital form to cater to the overwhelming response from international fans.
The BoBoiBoy comic will be sold at convenience stores, bookstores and online platforms starting March 16 at RM5.90 per copy in peninsular Malaysia and RM6.90 in Sabah and Sarawak.
Nizam said the comic would feature BoBoiBoy's adventures following the BoBoiBoy Movie 2 finale, which had broken various local movie records.
"This comic series will take readers on a journey with BoBoiBoy and his friends to discover new elemental powers as well as meet new terrifying enemies and each issue will have 48 pages of colourful illustrations," he said.
