Moment of Beirut Explosion Seen on Horizon

An explosion rocked the port area of Beirut, Lebanon, on Tuesday, August 4.

At least 100 people were killed and more than 4,000 injured with those figures expected to rise, according to local media reports citing authorities on Wednesday morning.

The cause of the explosion was still under investigation, local media said.

Local emergency services worked to evacuate intensive care patients from hospitals impacted in the blast while first aid stations were set up to assist those wounded.
