A U.K. mother charged with killing her four children who died in a 2021 house fire, has been granted bail.

Deveca Rose, 29, was charged with four counts of manslaughter as well as child abandonment, according to Metropolitan Police. Her two sets of twin sons, Leyton and Logan Hoath, 3, and Kyson and Bryson Hoath, 4, died in a December 2021 fire in the borough of Sutton in South London.

Rose appeared in Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where she was granted conditional bail, a spokesperson for the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed to PEOPLE. She is next due in court on Jan. 8 for a plea hearing.

According to the court extract reviewed by PEOPLE, Rose will have to surrender her passport as part of her bail conditions and must live and sleep each night in her residence

“You are charged with very serious offenses and if you were found guilty of any or all of these offenses... it is likely you would go to prison for a significant period of time,” District Judge Sarah Turnock told Rose, according to a report from the BBC.

The Times reported that neighbors said Rose was shopping when the fire was discovered shortly before 7 p.m. local time.

At the time, Rose gave a statement to the U.K. paper saying, “Bryson, Kyson, Logan and Leyton were my boys, they were my babies, they were my life, they were my world. They were my heart; they were my soul, they were everything. Everything feels so surreal. I can’t function.”
