Molly-Mae Hague has told her followers to "check your bodies" after she had a lump removed from her breast.

The 22-year-old former Love Island contestant, who recently became creative director for fashion brand PrettyLittleThing, shared the news on her Instagram Stories with a post-surgery selfie.

In her caption, Hague wrote: "I spoke about a lump on my boob on a recent vlog of mine, well I had it removed today. Check your bodies people!

"Also had a lump removed from my finger that I’ve spoken about a few times too.

"Also having a cannula put in my hand has always been without a doubt my BIGGEST fear…so that in itself is a HUGE achievement for me."

Hague told her followers she had found a lump in August during a vlog, revealing her doctor had diagnosed it as a fibroadenoma.

These are common and benign tumours, which are most common among women in their twenties and thirties.

She added: "I felt like it had grown a little bit, so I went back today to get it checked and it had grown a little bit.

"It doesn't mean it's sinister and it doesn't mean it's dramatic, but it had grown a little bit."

Hague said her doctor encouraged her to get a biopsy done in order to decide whether it would make sense to have the tumour removed.

She confessed that she will sometimes "hold myself back from talking about health things", but said it was important for her to use her platform to encourage people to take care of themselves.

The star added: "It's an important subject and we should all be checking our boobs and checking for lumps."

Hague is due to undergo more surgery in the near future in order to relieve some of the pain from her endometriosis — a long-term condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows elsewhere.

"I’m just looking forward to it to be honest because my endometriosis MASSIVELY impacts my life, I just pray the surgery helps," she said in a social media post.

"I’m looking forward to speaking more about it on my YouTube to educate people properly on it. I know a lot of girls want me to do this."
