Canadian supermodel Dayle Haddon, 76, died of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning on Friday.

The million-dollar home where she was found in Pennsylvania is owned by her journalist daughter, Ryan Haddon, and her husband, Hallmark actor Marc Blucas, according to reports.

Haddon graced the cover of many magazines in the 1970s and 1980s, including Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire. She was also an ambassador for L’Oréal Paris for more than 15 years.

After retiring as a model, Haddon appeared regularly on TV as a beauty expert, and acted in several movies before becoming a UNICEF ambassador. She also founded a non-profit called WomenOne, which partnered with charity Free The Children to provide scholarships for girls’ education in Kenya.

On Friday morning, officials responded to a call about a person who was partially conscious in a cottage house, reported 6ABC News. Haddon was found unconscious in a second-floor bedroom, and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police told the outlet that high carbon monoxide levels were detected at the home and fumes from a heating unit might be to blame. The incident remains under investigation.

Haddon’s daughter posted a statement on Instagram in tribute to her mother.

“I always trust the timing of things. There are no accidents and certainly how we enter and exit this world is mystical and unknowable,” she wrote in the post. “She was a high-hearted spiritual being that put value on her soul’s evolution, so I know her journey here in this dimension must have been complete.”
