KUALA LUMPUR, June 3 — A vegetable lorry driver was surprised to find an extra package in the form of a mischievous orange cat at the back of his lorry.

The lorry driver who was heading to Singapore was already at the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine checkpoint in Johor when he heard noises from the back of his lorry only to discover the cat had somehow got onboard it.

Fearing for its safety, the driver placed the cat inside a cage before passing it to one of the export workers there who later passed the feline to his sister-in-law living in Johor Baru.

According to portal MStar, the sister-in-law, known as Melur, said that the cat was found on May 21 and she has been taking care of it for the last two weeks.

Melur added that she tried finding the owner of the cat by posting about it on a local Facebook group but to no avail.

“This Oyen (orange cat) has a collar on it and it’s very friendly.

“It may already have an owner, so I tried sharing about it on a local Facebook group for cats and waited, but so far no one has come to claim it.

“Since the cat remains unclaimed, we decided to take care of it and it didn’t even make any fuss when it arrived on the first night,” said Melur, adding that the cat just curiously wandered around the house when it got there.

Melur also shared that the cat is getting more and more comfortable at her house ever since its arrival and has been poking fun at her other cat, Mochi, who’s paralysed.

“Just because Mochi is paralysed, this Oyen has been bullying Mochi by constantly playing with Mochi’s tail,” Melur said.

She added that despite its playful behaviour, Melor and her family have accepted the cat as part of their family.

Melur also shared about the orange cat via a Twitter thread where it has garnered over 4,000 retweets and has been viewed over 900,000 times.

Other Twitter users were also seen agreeing with Melur in the reply section that orange cats are known for their mischievous behaviour.
