Vikings rookie Jaylen Twyman recovering after being shot 4 times in D.C.
Minnesota Vikings rookie and former Pitt standout Jaylen Twyman was reportedly shot four times while visiting his aunt in Washington, D.C., his agent told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday afternoon.
It’s unclear what led to the shooting, but Twyman was in a car when he was shot. He was in the “wrong place, wrong time,” his agent said.
Twyman is expected to make a full recovery. It’s unknown where specifically he was shot, but he reportedly does not need surgery.

Twyman was selected in the sixth round of the draft last month. The 21-year-old racked up 29 total tackles and 11 sacks in two seasons with the Panthers, 10.5 of which came in his sophomore season. Twyman opted out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Vikings confirmed the situation later Monday night, and said Twyman was one of several victims. It’s unclear when he will be able to rejoin the team.

"We have been in direct contact with Jaylen and his family, and we are extremely thankful Jaylen is expected to make a full recovery," the team said, in part.
