A mine-safety training program for schoolchildren was launched in Kyiv, Ukraine, on Monday, September 5, the Ukrainian government said.
Video released by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shows children in a classroom in Bucha district, a suburb west of Kyiv, being taught about how to avoid death or injury from mines or other explosive objects.
The program was supported by the US Embassy in Ukraine’s Democracy Promotion Fund in partnership with the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration and would be implemented for six months, from September to February, the Ukrainian military said.
In attendance at the launch were officials from the Kyiv Regional State Administration, the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and local administrative bodies, according to officials. Credit: Armed Forces of Ukraine via Storyful
