Mill Fire Injures Residents, Threatens Homes in Northern California

A wildfire in California’s Siskiyou County injured three civilians and destroyed numerous buildings in the community of Lake Shastina as of Saturday, September 3, according to Cal Fire.

The wind-driven Mill Fire broke out on Friday, September 2, and had burned more than 4,250 acres with 25 percent containment as of Saturday evening, Cal Fire reported.

Footage filmed by Facebook user Karrie Ann Snure shows swathes of smoke as several helicopters deliver water for aerial firefighting in the distance.

Fire officials said the fire still posed "a significant risk to the homes that remain standing”.
