Mila Jirin elated that social events are now allowed

18 Oct - Mila Jirin is elated that the government is finally allowing for social events in a closed space to be held after more than a year of no business for her company.

The singer-turned-entrepreneur, who shared her happiness on social media earlier, stated that she and her colleagues in the wedding industry can now breathe a sigh of relief, and that they are now doing their best to ensure the strictest SOP.

"We are planning to have RELA officers on duty in every hall to inspect the vaccine and MySejahtera status before guests can enter," she said to mStar.

The Malaysian government earlier announced that social events will be allowed beginning 18 October for states that are now under Phase 4 of the Recovery Plan.

Those states include Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Labuan.

Earlier this month, Mila expressed her frustrations online after Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin expressed his hesitance in allowing social events in closed spaces, saying that the wedding industry has been one of the most deeply affected.

The singer herself had to start several smaller businesses to ensure that she is able to pay her employees and keep her main business afloat.
