Nurse Who Went Viral With 'Amazing Grace' Picked to Sing at Pre-Inauguration COVID Memorial

A Michigan nurse was asked to sing Amazing Grace to a group of fellow health care workers at a Livonia hospital at the morning shift change on March 29, serving as both a fitting day’s end and a hopeful new beginning for the nurses fighting COVID-19.

This video shows Lori Marie Key leaning against a wall as she sings to her fellow nurses at St Mary Mercy Livonia Hospital during the staff’s morning meeting.

“Stay home if you don’t need to leave the house,” Key said on Facebook when she shared the video. “Pray for the sick and health care workers at risk for this disease.”

Key said she was asked to sing during the nurses’ morning huddle due to how “crazy” the work has been at the hospital.

“Thank you, Lori, for your beautiful initiative to raise your fellow colleagues’ spirits as you fight tirelessly on the front lines of COVID-19,” St Mary Mercy Livonia said on Facebook. Credit: Saint Joseph Mercy Health System via Storyful
