Michigan Lighthouse Slammed by Gigantic Waves as Region Braces for Winter Storm

Gigantic waves were seen slamming against St Joseph’s lighthouse on Lake Michigan on February 21, as the upper midwest prepared for a winter storm.

This video was recorded by Nathan Voytovick, who said, “These were the biggest wave crashes I have EVER seen here,” adding that the sunrise gave it “a nice golden glow for a minute.”

Voytovick told Storyful that it was “crazy to think this is Lake Michigan and not the ocean,” and said that much of the US was preparing for a “massive winter storm” to hit.

He posted the footage to his Facebook page, Nate’s Dronography, where he regularly shares visuals of southwestern Michigan. Credit: Nate’s Dronography via Storyful
