Michelle Yeoh to receive Kirk Douglas Award

12 Aug – 2022 seems to be a good year for Michelle Yeoh, as it was revealed that she is set to receive the 15th annual Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film.

The award, to be awarded by the Santa Barbara Film Festival, will be presented at a black-tie dinner event at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara on 9 December.

"A well-deserved honour for the legendary and multi-talented Michelle Yeoh," said the late Kirk Douglas' son, actor Michael Douglas. "She has been entertaining and thrilling us in films since the 1980s ...... AND she does her own stunts!! Bravo Michelle!"

The "Everything Everywhere All At Once" star previously won Best Actress at the Hollywood Critics Association Midseason Film Awards, and was named one of TIME 100's most influential people of 2022.

In the same month, she was also honoured with the SeeHer Award during Gold House's inaugural gala.

Most recently, it was reported that Michelle will be conferred a Doctorate of Fine Arts by the American Film Institute (AFI) for her "contributions of distinction to the art of the moving image".
