SINGAPORE — Singapore's highly-anticipated Bib Gourmand list for this year has showcased an lineup of 79 establishments upon its release on Thursday (15 June).

What's more, the list boasts 19 new awardees, including 17 hawker stalls and two restaurants, compared to last year's mere nine newcomers out of the 67 recipients.

The Bib Gourmand designation, introduced in 1997 and curated by Michelin inspectors, celebrates eateries that offer value-for-money dining experiences, with each dish priced at no more than $45.

Among this year's additions, both Adam Road Food Centre as well as Geylang Bahru Market and Food Centre saw three stalls being awarded in each hawker centre.

Making the list at Adam Road Food Centre are: Adam Rd Noo Cheng Big Prawn Noodle, Bahrakath Mutton Soup, and Selamat Datang Warong Pak Sapari, famous for its delectable mee soto and mee rebus.

Meanwhile, Geylang Bahru showcases the exceptional flavours of Hui Wei Chilli Ban Mian, Spinach Soup, and Cheok Kee, famous for its boneless braised duck.

Venturing into the Whampoa Makan Place hawker centre, two newcomers have made their way into the prestigious list: Beach Road Fish Head Bee Hoon and Singapore Fried Hokkien Mee.

Over in Jurong, two stalls earned the Bib Gourmand nod: the tu tu kueh maker Du Du Shou Shi at Jurong West 505 Market and Food Centre, and the Tai Seng Fish Soup at Taman Jurong Market and Food Centre.

Other deserving recipients of the distinction include Nam Sing Hokkien Fried Mee at Old Airport Road Food Centre, Yong Chun Wan Ton Noodle at 115 Bukit Merah View Market and Food Centre, and the curry chicken noodles from Heng Kee at Hong Lim Market and Food Centre.

Two stalls previously listed in the Michelin Guide have now been promoted to Bib Gourmand status: Ji De Lai Hainanese Chicken Rice at Chong Pang Market and Food Centre and No. 18 Zion Road Fried Kway Teow at Zion Riverside Food Centre.

Renowned zi char restaurant Kok Sen has secured a new entry following its relocation to a different site along Keong Saik Road in 2022.

Additionally, The Coconut Club's Beach Road outlet has made a triumphant return, reclaiming its position as the go-to nasi lemak specialist after dropping off the list in 2019 and 2022.

  • Hong Kee Beef Noodle at Amoy Street Food Centre

  • Jun Yuan House of Fish at Old Airport Road Food Centre

  • The now-defunct Tiong Bahru Yi Sheng Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee at ABC Brickworks Market and Food Centre.

The unveiling of The World's 50 Best Restaurants list, from positions 51 to 100, took place on 8 June, with the eagerly awaited top 50 set to be revealed on Tuesady (20 June) in Valencia, Spain.
