Mexican families reunite with deceased relatives

In a cemetery in Metepec, Mexico, families decorated the graves of their deceased relatives with flowers, candles, papel picado (cut up paper), food and drink.

Together they held vigils, talked and ate, illuminated by the soft light of the burning candles.

Even though this is a yearly tradition, many of those who partook in the ritual didn't attend the cemetery last year due to social distancing restrictions.
