Meteor Flashes Through Sky Over Eastern Minnesota

A meteor created a bright flash as it streaked through the sky over east Minnesota and west Wisconsin early on Wednesday, December 16, as captured in dashcam footage from Minnesota’s Pine County Sheriff’s Office.

The National Weather Service in Duluth shared the video on Facebook, and said it had received a few reports about the meteor just after 6.50 am, including one from Bennett, Wisconsin, about 75 miles northeast of Pine County.

The American Meteor Society said it had received more than 60 reports about the meteor from across Minnesota and Wisconsin. Credit: Pine County Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
